You might lose a minimal amount of weight, but what you'd mostly be doing is firming and strengthening your abdominal muscles. Strength training is beneficial because you continue to burn calories after you've finished, but cardio activity is preferred to lose weight. incidentally, it's said that if you're doing a perfect ab crunch or sit-up, you won't need to do more than 25.

You Can Lose weight by running huh...yea and u need to stop in dip while running that will help a whole lot I've tried it i lose over 50 pounds by running everyday.

It'll all be down to how much you eat. Besides, crunches isn't the best workout for weight loss. Your body is like a car - it'll use up more on higher revs, and crunches isn't that good at getting your heart rate up for longer periods. Cycling, running etc is better at that. You want to get a good raised heartrate, and to keep it elevated for about one hour or more. Around 3 lbs is a reasonable goal /week.

you will know that you are burning fat when your stomach turns cold...start out slow and work your way up...be careful when doing some excercises you can hurt yourself more than help your self if you don't do them correctly...try eating like 6 or 7 small meals a day instead of like 4 big meals this way your body won't store your fat and feel like it should save it....don't just do sit ups they only work your top abs...try laying on your back and bending your knees to a right angle so your shins are parallel to your stomach then bring your knees to your chest....this will work your lower abs as well which is where you will probably want to work the most because that is where the most fat tends to lie on your stomach

The number of sit-ups completed does not have a correlation to the amount of weight lost. Weight may actually be gained as muscle is built, because muscle weighs more than fat.
