That would depend on what kind of gas mileage you are getting, and what gas prices do.

Google Maps says the route from Portland ME to the Grand Canyon is 2,793 miles. At an average of 25 MPG, that's 111 gallons. At an assumed average of $2.50/gal, that's about $280 in gas alone, one way. You ought to change your oil before you start.

This routing is via I-80, and there are tolls across Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and near Chicago. I have no idea what the tolls are these days.

The trip will take 4 days, driving about 12 hours per day. You'll probably want to add 3 nights lodging along the way.
