Why doesn't WikiAnswers have more categories for more specific topics?
WikiAnswers adds new topics on an almost daily basis. As the amount of questions and answers increases related to a specific topic it is added. There are currentlt 5,280 categories on WikiAnswers.

How many new categories are requested on WikiAnswers a day?
On average, about two to three categories are requested every day on WikiAnswers. Categories are usually reviewed weekly by Community Assistants. See related questions for more information on requesting categories.

We don't add categories every day. We usually add them once a week... but if you averaged out the amount per day, it might be about 1 or 2, depending on the week.

Why does WikiAnswers not always suggest categories when you ask a question?
WikiAnswers suggests categories for a new question based on the categories of existing similar questions (and answers). Sometimes, WikiAnswers does not find enough similar questions to form an opinion about the suggested category.Possible reasons for this are:The question is about a subject new to WikiAnswers.The question only contains "stop" words (e.g., "the," "of," "what"), for example "Who should ask to be or not to be?"The question is gibberish.If none of the above applies, this may be a bug, and you are welcome to report it to WikiAnswers' support team.
Why are there no questions in the 'WikiAnswers Local' category?
"WikiAnswers Local" is a placeholder category for questions about certain countries. No new questions should be added to the main "WikiAnswers Local" category.
What categories on WikiAnswers have no unanswered questions in them?
Probably none - there are new questions submitted in every category on a daily basis. Not every new question will be answered immediately.
How do you locate the Computer Category by browsing through categories here on WikiAnswers?
First, go onto the front page of WikiAnswers. Below the "New Questions" box, you will see a box with all of the major categories. Underneath "Technology" one of the subcategories will be computers. Click on that, and you have found the computer category.
How do you post new topics on WikiAnswers?

Who adds new categories to WikiAnswers?
Community Assistants add the categories to WikiAnswers. However, anyone can suggest categories to be created. If you are interested in starting a new category on WikiAnswers, please fill out the form linked below. Include the following: your username; the name of the category you're requesting, as well as the reason you're requesting it; and the category under which it should be placed. And, if possible, please also include a 2-3 sentence description for the category. Or, you can go to the "Suggestion Box" on the Community Forum and add a new post there under the thread called "New Category" (see Related link below). You have to sign in to WikiAnswers to see the "Community Forum" link. Everything can fit in a possible category, even aliens!
