Oil should beclanged every 3k miles . Radiator fluid every 3 years. trans fluid could last as long as 5 years ..remember oil brakes down depending on the mileage you drive. if the car is stored, oil that sits will break down much slower but it will also accumulate moisture witch is worse. all other fluids in any carl should be replaced no more than 5 years. over time you will notice the difference when you have new brake and trans fluid. Good luck
every 30k miles
If your power steering pump makes a whining noise as you turn your steering wheel your power steering fluid reservoir is probably empty. The noise is caused when your power steering pump tries to pump fluid that is not there. This indicates that you probably have a leak somewhere in your power steering fluid lines. You can either try to find the leak or simply replace the power steering fluid every so often.
Does the 2007 Hyundai Elantra have a power steering pump? How do I check the fluid level? How often should it be replaced? Thanks.
A power steering fluid leak is most often repaired by replacing the damaged seals or hoses. These trouble spots allow fluid to freely leak from the system.
Not required
Every 2 years
You need to flush the power steering fluid on a 2003 Toyota Highlander every two to three years. You should check the fluid levels weekly.
I have often used trans fluid as a cheaper than PS fluid substitute with out any problems.
remove the lower steering column universal joint and check it for stiffness. if it doesnt twist easily on either of its axis, replace it. these cars have this problem often.
My mechanic told me every 2-3 years, depending on how dirty the fluid looks.
Read the owners manual. It has that information.
It is not necessary to flush the power steering system in a car. However, you should check the power steering fluid level in the car each month.
