typically the timing belt on most Nissan 4cyl cars and trucks should be changed out every 7-10K miles (or every 2 oil changes.) I own an older Nissan truck and I usually change out my t belt whenever I do my air filter. because my truck is getting a bit older (and more tired) I notice the cams start clicking earlier then usual so i have been having to change out the darn thing more and more often. The T-belt change is a lengthy and arduous ordeal to do, supplies are particularly cheap (a normal timing belt should be no more than 40-50 USD) so it is in your best intrest to preform the labor yourself. The good news is, is that when done properly your can assure proper operation of your ka24de motor. Unless you have the 6 cyl in your truck, then you can wait more like 150-180K miles, you really don't have to worry about it. I Hope this was helpful!! Please Rate!!
The manufacturer recommends that you change your 2000 Nissan Frontier four-cylinder engine timing belt every 60,000 miles. The 2000 Nissan Frontier does not have a timing chain, it has a timing belt.
Should last the life of the engine and is normally changed during an overhaul.
The only time you should have to worry about it is if you have problems. Nissan repair says approx. every 100,000 miles
Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine and are normally replaced during a complete engine rebuild. Unless it becomes noisy no maintenance is necessary.
Timing chains never need to be changed, only belts.
in answer to your question the timing belt should be changed every 55/60 thousand miles
never
It must be changed every 105,000 miles or 10 years whichever comes first. Warning: This is an interference engine.
If the engine has a timing belt, it should be changed around the 150K mark. If there is a timing chain, it does not have to be changed unless it is damaged.
