That's funny cause i thought my transmission was going out in my 1999 Grand prix GT and it turned out by doing a filter and complete flush it made it 1000% better almost perfect actually.
Are we talking about a flush or a fluid change? A fluid change would do alot of good but a flush may loosen much needed debris that your engine relys on for operation. Sometimes people refer to a fluid change as a flush. I would recommend a fluid change myself as I have seen the results first hand, my van and car shift like new now.

The 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix with the 3800 Series II engine and the 4T65E 4-speed automatic has a transmission a service fill of 13,4-quarts if completely purged and flushed. 3100 equipped cars also have the same total fill.
No. The transmission is completely sealed.
The radiator on a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix is flushed by draining the coolant, filling the system with water, adding a liquid flush to the system, and running it for a few minutes. The system is then drained, flushed with fresh water, and refilled with coolant.
