cage liner or news paper, whatever you use should be changed everyday. as well as fresh food/water changed everyday and their containers washed/changed every other day. A more complete clean of the cage should be done one a week. hope this helps :)

∙ 10y agoClean the cage at least weekly to keep your hamster healthy. If the water bottle leaks, or it starts smelling, you may need to do it sooner. Be sure to check in with your hamster daily to make sure it is okay.

It is a lot of fun and loves to crawl around. don't think of it like a mouse or rat. Its a small animal with no long tail. Its usually only about a centimeter long. They usually cost from $5-12. The expensive part is the cage. But after you buy the cage the rest is easy. I recommend not to get a plastic cage.
