The manufacturer reccomends that you change it at least every two weeks and more frequently if you get a lot of grass, dirt or other contaminants in the pool or if there are a lot of people playing in the pool. Even if it is pretty clean and not many people use it you should change it every two weeks to keep the pump and filter working at optimum efficiency. It would be false economy to change them less frequently since it could wear out the pump prematurely or cause you to spend much more on chemicals to keep the pool balanced without proper and efficient filtering.

How often do you change the pool filter?

You don't have to change the pool filter for years Unless it gets damaged. You do however have to clean the pool filter whenever the presure leading to the filter gets too high. This indicates a dirty filter that is not allowing water to get through effectively.

How often should I clean my pool?

The cleaning schedules varies from filter to filter, but a general guideline on any swimming pool filter is to take a reading when the filter is clean, then clean the pool filter when the pressure rises about 10 psi.

How do you change the psi to a pool?

Your pump and filter are rated at a certain psi. To change that you would have to change the pump and maybe the filter.

How often should I change the filters in my swimming pool?

There is no specific set time that you should change your filter. I would check mine on a weekly basis and if it was dirty I would replace it.

Will a stronger filter help remove sediment from a small quick set vinyl pool?

No, I have come to understand that it will not. I purchased a larger filter with double the GPH and there is no change. The problem is the sediment is too small to be filtered out. However, I have been able to remove it by adding a nylon stocking to my vacuum filter bag. check out this post for more information. What is the brown sediment on the pool floor

How often should I change my pool cartridge filter ?

The filter tank should last for years. However, the inside parts might last 3 to 8 yrs. depending upon whether the filter media is sand, DE ( the grids do degrade after about 8 yrs and will have to be replaced if torn or they have holes in them) or Cartridge elements.

Converting de filter to sand filter?

This is fairly easily achieved change over. All you have to do is change piping coming from the pump and to the pool to fit into the new filtration system.

How often do you need to change the sand in the Hayward S240 pool cleaner?

I am reading this as a S240 pool filter? We suggest changing your sand every 3-4 years. *Remember to fill the filter tub at least 1/2 full of water before pouring new sand into the filter this will help prevent cracking the elements inside. more pools tips at www.prospectpoolsllc.com/blog
