If you drive normally and use conventional oil I recommend you change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles. If you are using synthetic oil change it every 8,000 miles. Use a quality filter such as Purolator or Wix and use a name brand oil of the correct weight as listed in your owner's manual, more than likely 5w30.
