Pre-teens don't exist in the truest sense. You are a child until you are 13-14. I think kids choose when they become a teenager. I am 10 but refuse to exept the title pre-teen. I am a child and I'll be a child until I don't want to be one. but generally a pre-teen should be a 12 year old

∙ 12y ago10-12 are the preteen years. Pre means before so it's the close ages before the teens. It has nothing to do what a certain behavior, just based on age in numbers.
