It depends how old it is. Mothers can eat a hurt or sick baby. If the baby is old enough to be separated out it may well survive if given the correct treatment and lots of TLC.
Baby platypuses do not have to survive on their own. They suckle from their mother for at least four months, and tend to stay with her until they are around eighteen months to two years old.
I would say about a week or two it is ok but thay ar fragile for days after being born.
