I have a similar pistol serial no. 2052. I came across a web page in my research that said that red jacket pistols ( no.3 & no. 4 ) were made by the Lee Arms Co. ( as in Lee Enfield - the British service rifle ) between 1877 and 1880 in a factory somewhere in New York / Mass. Unfortunately I cannot remember the title of the web page or any more details but if you do find any more info i'd be very interested to hear. good luck Richardac
@ 1866.
Stevens was in business from 1864-1950. They did not have a "pocket pistol" model, but DID make a "pocket rifle" model from 1869-1916. Am aware of no specific production data based on serial numbers.
It was made in 1864.
Old catalogs
