We have been told the Kenmore sewing machine model 385-1778180 is 30 years old. I purchased my 385.1778180 Sears Kenmore sewing machine new at Sears in 1988.
Check managemylife.com for Kenmore 385 manuals.
I got this sewing machine from my sweetheart for my birthday either in 1973, 74, or 75. It was a most wonderful gift. It was my first sewing machine. I still have it. It was a terrific mechanical sewing machine.
Yes. I bought a walking foot for my machine. I found it at a quilting shop.
singer That isn't correct. Kenmore machines with the 385. prefex were made by Janome who still makes the kenmore sewing machines today. The 148 prefex machines were made by White.
I think basically $O, cause no manuals no service gurantees. just pay and go, good luckconfused with itseatle
Kenmore products are made by many different companies depending on the product. For example, Kenmore sewing machines are now and have been for several years made by Janome. These machines have the prefix 385 in their serial numbers. As for LG, I have no idea.
Janome makes the the current Kenmore sewing machines.
I bought mine new between 1985 and 1987, so during that time frame.
I bought my new from Sears the end of 1998.
The Kenmore's made by Janome have a source code of "385." This would be all Kenmores since about 1990-ish. In the 1970's and 1980's most of the Kemores either had a "158." (Jaguar/Maruzen) or "148." (Soryu) source code, but there was one Necchi made model in that time frame with the "340." prefix. I found a site that said the Kenmore model 158 12511 was made in 1975.
I have a 385.19150090 model. Is there a on/off switch or do i have to have the foot controller to stop/start . You need the foot controller to start and stop the machine. If you go to managemylife.com and imput your complete serial number, you can download your manual for free. Your power cord and foot controller are available for sale from Sears online but the foot controller is expensive at about $63.00. You might want to check on ebay or some of the online sewing machine parts merchants to see if there is a less expensive generic one that will work.
