LED technology, such as the little red LEDs used to display numbers in calculators 30-40 years ago, have been around since the 1960s but LED lighting as a replacement for the original, inexpensive, reliable (and admittedly less efficient) incandescent bulb has been around since only about 2008. The biggest problem with LED lighting is that they can produce only a narrow range of frequencies of light and, thus, need to be modified by one means or another to produce white or more natural light. This can be accomplished by combining LEDs emitting red, green, and blue in very close proximity to each other (such as a pixel operates on a modern computer monitor or TV screen) to simulate white light or by use of a phosphor coating within the bulb to absorb certain colors and emit light that is at a more desired wavelength.
LED lights were first introduced in about fifty years ago
Anchor,Philips,Wipro,Havells are some of the led manufacturers
Sometimes it is but depends how hot the light gets.
Old fluorescent light do not explode. It will go only dimmer and dimmer or sometimes flickering and flashing on/off when it is defective.
LED (light emitting diode) is an electronic component that generates light from the electrons flowing in one direction through it, in an electron circuit, possibly as part of a circuit board. In a circuit the light emission can be a short as a nanosecond. One or more LED's can be used to make light with a minimum of electricity. Modern applications are wide spread including optical sensor activators, calculator displays and automotive tail lights. LED's have come down in price and can last for tens of thousands of hours so have become an economical replacement for other lights in some applications.
LEDs are not automatically explosion-proof. It would depends on the design as a whole. what type of switch that's used, how well it's encased, amount of current running through it, etc.
