He was 75 years old. Read Genesis 12:1-4
Isaac is sometimes called "the child of the promise" because God promised Abraham that Sarah would have a son despite her old age, and Isaac was born miraculously fulfilling that promise. Isaac's birth symbolizes God's faithfulness in keeping His promises to His chosen people.
Ishmael was not the promised son from God. Ishmael came about because Sarah gave Abraham Hagar to produce a son thinking that they would help God out with His promise of a son. A big mistake. Abraham was 86 years old when Ishmael was born.
It doesn't say how many years it took for the promise to be fufilled, but it does say that he was 99 years old when the promise was finally fufilled.
In Genesis chapter 22 God promised the land to Abraham when he was 90 years old. This would make it 1906 BC [Ussher].
When Abraham was approximately 86 years old the Lord promised Abraham that he would have an heir, and that Abraham's descendants would be as numerous as the stars and to his descendants God would give them the land from the river of Egypt to the great river, Euphrates ( Genesis 15). This was a reassurance of the promise in Genesis 12. We know that about this same time period, Sarah told Abraham to go into her handmaid, Hagar, and that perhaps they might have an heir by her. This was a mistake. Ishmael was born from this union and about 14 years later a son, Isaac was born to Sarah and Abraham. Abraham was 100 years old (Genesis21:1-7.) Isaac was the son of promise.
Abraham was one hundred years of age and ,and his wife Sarah was ninety years old then. Medically speaking it is next to impossible to have children , at this age.So naturally Abraham did not believe it at all.
The first time was when she was 16yrs old, and she claimed it was an audiable external voice.
Genesis 17:17 then abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? and shall sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

The story of Abraham is found in the Old Testament, specifically in the book of Genesis. It tells the story of God calling Abraham to leave his homeland and go to a land that God would give him. It includes important events such as the promise of God to make Abraham into a great nation and the testing of Abraham's faith through the command to sacrifice his son Isaac.
The "Promised Land" refers to the "land" that God promised to Abraham and his descendants, because:"...that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My Commandments, My statutes, and My laws." (Gen.26:5)The New Testament summarizes this "Promised Land" as being THE EARTH!Ultimately to be fulfilled with the establishment of theKingdom of God on earth by Jesus Christ... who was and is the God of the Old Testament who made the Promise to "faithful" Abraham [see John 1:3]."For the PROMISE, that HE SHOULD BE THE HEIR OF THE WORLD, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the Righteousness of Faith." (Rom.4:13)"Know ye therefore that they which are of Faith, the same are the children of Abraham." (Gal.3:7)"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and Heirs ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE." (verse 29)That's what the "Promised Land" is. It's the Promise of the coming Kingdom of God to be established on earth by Abraham's God, Jesus Christ... along with all of Abraham's "Faithful" children -- the Sons of God.That's one reason why Jesus came "in the flesh"... to "confirm" the promises of the "Salvation of all the families of the earth; and the Kingdom.""...Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision [the Jews] for the Truth of God, to CONFIRM THE PROMISESmade unto the fathers [Abraham, Isaac and Jacob]..." (Rom.15:8)."...ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God..." (Luke 13:28).The EARTH is the LAND that was PROMISED to Faithful Abraham.Jesus Christ began the fulfillment of the Promise through His mortal death and shedding of His Divine Blood... and shall complete the Promise when the Eternally Living Christ returns to establish the Kingdom on earth -- the Land Promised to Abraham and his children.
