Top Cat came our around l96l-62 by Hanna-Barbera. Sadly it was one of the first TV cartoons to have homosexual angles, hinted at even int he theme song, later watered down to the ( Most effectual) the original line ran, Top Cat!- The Intellectual, Top Cat- The Homosexual! close friends get to call him T.C. provided it:s with dignity.. top cat.. etc. Snagglepuss was also gay and seemed to be a take-off on Liberace. there were no girls in the Top Cat lineup.
