There is no age limit on tampons, but tampons aren't recommended to pre-teens or teens.

Tampons pose multiple health risks so a woman has to be mature enough to understand those risks and responsible enough to follow precautions, but even then younger women have more delicate vaginal tissues and lower immunity to the TSST-1 toxins responsible for Toxic shock syndrome so are at much greater risk. At very least women should wait six cycles before using tampons so that they know their flow pattern well enough to know what absorbency is safe to use when.

Should you use Jr Tampons?

There's nothing to say that you should use tampons full-stop, you have other options you can use instead. Jr tampons are light absorbency tampons, only named jr tampons in the US to try to encourage young women to use tampons earlier in order for tampon companies to increase product loyalty early. If you do use tampons you should always use lowest absorbency for your flow, if that means using jr tampons then those are the ones that you will use.

Can a year old use a tampon?

I believe it depends on the maturity of the 9 year old. If she is mature enough to handle putting them in and taking them out on her own, at regular interval's then she should be old enough to tampons.

Should you wear a tampon when receiving a massage though your period is not on?

No, tampons should only be used when you're on your period. Never use when not menstruating as this will be uncomfortable and potentially increase your risk of contracting Toxic Shock Syndrome. There's absolutely no reason to use tampons when not on your period, having a massage makes no difference: there's no reason why you should need to use tampons while having a massage.

Can a 12yr old just starting her periad use tampos?

Well, tampons vs. pads are a personal choice. Age should not be a factor. Pros of tampons: They're less messy Can use them when doing sports Are actually pretty comfortable Not visible or bulky Cons of tampons: Have to remove frequently because of toxic shock syndrome Can be tricky to use at first Uncomfortable if inserted badly

Can tampons stop you from having babies?

Tampons wouldn't affect a baby during pregnancy, but there is absolutely no reason why a woman should be using tampons while she is pregnant - tampons should only be used during menstruation, even if experiencing bleeding during pregnancy it is not safe to use tampons as you don't know the blood loss to know what absorbency to use. Misusing tampons this way can increase risk of vaginal infections and toxic shock syndrome - the latter would potentially cause serious harm to the baby.

Why do you try to use tampons when im a 12 year old boy?

If you are a 12 year old [cis] boy then you do not have a vagina to insert a tampon, nor do you have a uterus to menstruate, thus you cannot try tampons.

Do tampons have an expiry date?

No, tampons don't expire because of the materials used and sanitation to reduce bacteria being present in the tampons - some tampons may have an expiry date on the box, this is to do with potential bacterial growth, but this is uncommon. However tampons are only sanitary not sterile so they can still contain bacteria and even mold, if tampons aren't kept in a clean dry place they will not be safe to use. Although tampons don't expire it's still not a great idea to use tampons that are a few years or even decades old - yes, sometimes you do find tampons this old.

Why do you use a tampon after your period as taken place?

You don't, you should only ever use tampons when menstruating.Tampons are not hygienic or healthy so they should be avoided when at all possible, if you do use tampons you only use them during menstruation. You shouldn't use tampons when not menstruating or even with light flow, with less blood tampons will absorb more vaginal discharge resulting in splitting and ulceration in the vaginal walls so higher risk of TSS.
