It is pretty rare for someone to actually live by two complete identities when speaking about the true definition of split personality as a whole, however it is EXTREMELY common when speaking in terms of bi-polar disorder which effects the moods of a person also known as split personality.... ie high highs and low lows or a person thinking in terms of everything is black or white GREAT OR TERRIBLE in other words with no middle and their emotional status is strained, making them have split personalities within the same identity.... I have seen MANY people with this trait. Diagnosed it can be treated with psychotpopic drugs which will correct the seratonin and dopamine levels to that of a normal level.
