Why is it that people answer all the stupid questions but not the serious questions on WikiAnswers?
People answer all of the 'stupid' questions because they know the answer to those 'stupid' questions, whereas people do not usually know the correct answer to a serious question. Therefore, they only answer questions that they know the answer to, and ironically not answering the serious questions because they don't know the answer to it.

Well of course! It's purpose is to help people find references for personal and life questions. It is why there are supervisors to fact check and make sure people get accurate info to their questions.

My guess is because serious questions are in need of research; stupid and obvious ones are easy-to-answer.

Hey, wait a minute here! :-) There's a big difference between serious contributors and stupid people or vandals. Serious answerers do read the questions thoroughly and try and answer them the best they can, which is clearly and to the point more often than not.

Because it allows people like me to answer the questions. Sometimes it is a serious topic and I am serious... sometimes it's not so serious and I goof around to make myself laugh.

Some people do. Some folks here are looking for answers for homework, some to satisfy curiosity, and some for fun. Some questions are serious, and some are downright funny. If you look at enough questions, I think you will find I am right.
