The mouse should be placed on the same side of the keyboard as the users dominate hand (i.e... A right handed person would place the mouse to the right of the keyboard).
A mouse should be positioned next to the keyboard, reachable without extending the arm in an awkward position. Again, a light touch is needed and users should avoid gripping or squeezing the mouse.
Pick your mouse up and move it away from the keyboard.
