Children are not responsible enough to have a ferret as a pet. The ferret needs to be trained to not bite people. There is lots of text on that subject here and on the internet (search for "ferret bite training"). You never hit or flick a ferret's nose for bad behavior.
If the child is not old enough to know how to correctly stop a ferret from biting, He (or she) should not be in the presence in the same room as a ferret (or any other animal)

∙ 11y agoIf the wound is small and shallow - rinse the wound thoroughly with water. Dry the wound. Put antiseptic on the wound. Bandage the wound if necessary Contact your doctor or hospital as soon as you can.
If the would is deep and bleeding a lot - sit down and raise the wound above the level of your heart. Apply pressure to the wound. Go to your doctor or hospital as soon as possible.

It depends on how hard the ferret bites which depends on why the ferret has bitten you. If the ferret is scared or you are hurting it, it will bite to defend itself. This bite could be serious and painful. If the ferret is playing (ferrets play rough) will sometimes give you a small bite which isn't very painful. Ferrets can be trained to not bite or nip during play by scuffing them when they bite as this tells them you didn't like the behaviour. How do you tame a ferret?
You would need to find a warren (asking permission from the landowner and making sure the warren has no foxes, badgers, stoats, traps or poison gas in it). Then all the exits should be covered with purpose-made purse nets. The ferret can then be introduced to the hole (it should be wearing a good quality ferret tracking device, switched on(!!) of course). Then wait, very quickly, rabbits will bolt from the holes and get caught in the nets, where you should humanely dispatch them. Using the tracking device, track the ferret regularly, if it is sat still for any amount of time, it is likely to have made a kill, this is undesirable, the ferret should then be dug up (a good tracker will tell you how deep the ferret is), along with the rabbit is has caught, which may or may not need to be dispatched, as some ferrets are too small to kill a rabbit itself.
