The U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends that chicken leftovers should not be left out at room temperature for more than two hours.

If the chicken is being served on a hot day (over 90 degrees Fahrenheit), then any leftovers should be refrigerated within an hour.

Throw away any chicken that has been left out longer than two hours (or 1 hour on a hot day).
