Liver
This is the hormone glucogon. The two work together to maintain homeostatis of blood glucose.
Complex carbohydrates require digestion in order to be broken down into glucose and to help maintain proper blood sugar levels.
After a person has skipped a meal, the person's blood glucose level will stay at its normal level as there isn't any glucose absorbed. To maintain this normal blood glucose level, the pancreatic cells will secrete glucagon which stimulates the body to convert stored glycogen into glucose. There won't be any insulin secreted as insulin is only secreted when the blood glucose level increases beyond its normal level (for example, after a meal).
The body releases hormones to maintain the blood-sugar concentration. Insulin encourages the muscle and liver to absorb an insoluble form of glucose (glycogen) if the concentration rises too much. If the level falls, a second hormone - glucagon - is secreted to revert glycogen back into glucose, and stimulates the blood to absorb it. This homeostatic balance is crucial to our survival, as too little and too much sugar in the blood can be dangerous.
Well your body works to maintain homeostasis (which is balance) so for example if there is to much glucose in your blood then your body will produce insulin to love sugar level and maintain homeostasis its a natural body function
To maintain your blood glucose level below 120, eat low-carbohydrate foods, low-glycemic carbohydrates, combinimg them with proteins and fats.
Liver
to maintain the blood glucose at night
The endocrine system
Close. Insulin is produced in the pancrease to regulate glucose levels in the blood.
A blood glucose monitore is used by diabetics to help monitor and control their blood glucose levels. You can find helpful information by visiting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_glucose_monitoring.

the body needs to retain blood glucose simply because without it we would all die
The pancreas, it can't supply the body with insulin to maintain blood glucose levels.
