Is a hormone secreted bx thyroid gland important in maintaing calcium and phosphate balance of the body, normal development of neurons, maintaining metabolic rate, important in growth of infants.
When the amount of a particular hormone in the blood is reaches a certain level, the endocrine system sends signals to stop the release of that hormone. "Pearson Education Inc."
The previous answer was wrong, adrenaline does not travel in the blood stream as it is an excepion to the usual hormones secreted from the endocrine system.
The blood glucose is used by the muscles during exercise. The level of the glucose in the blood drops down. This stimulates the secretion of the hormone called as glucagon. This glucagon is secreted by the alpha cells of the endocrine part of the pancreas.
thyroxine
concentration of blood calcium.
hgh
ADH (Antidiuretic Hormone)
Negative feedback between the parathyroid glands and the blood calcium concentrations regulates parathyroid hormone secretion. As blood calcium concentration drops, more parathyroid hormone is secreted; as blood calcium concentration rises, less parathyroid hormone is secreted.
aldosterone; cortical collecting duct
Endocrine reflex
Thyroxine is the precursor to active thyroid hormone, which is essential for life. Thyroid hormone also plays an important role in brain development. A child with untreated low thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism) will develop a condition known as cretinism, which is marked by severe physical and mental abnormalities.
Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) is regulated by the pituitary gland. The anitidiuretic hormone maintains blood pressure and controls incoming water through the kidneys

When the level of the thyroxine increase, the level of the thyroid stimulating hormone decrease. So in turn the level of the thyroid hormone decreases. When the level of the thyroxine decrease, the level of the thyroid stimulating hormone increase. This in turn increase the level of the thyroxine. This explanation does not explain to how the level of the hormone is regulated at that particular level. But then this explanation satisfy most of the people.
