REMOVE MAGAZINE! OPERATE SLIDE SEVERAL CYCLES! MAKE SURE CHAMBER IS EMPTY! I CAN'T EMPHASIZE ENOUGH HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO MAKE SURE NO SHELLS ARE WITHIN AN ARMS REACH OF PROXIMITY TO WEAPON. Push take down button, (part on back of slide with hole surrounding firing pin) in and slightly pull back and up on slide. Slide should lift right up and slide forward off of barrel. Spring and firing pin will come with it.
.22 LR rim fire
used about 125 (like new) - 50 (worn) dollars us. New about 150.00 Us.
$50 to $75. These were very crude, low cost firearms of no particularly high quality.
Yes Provided the very cheaply made gun goes off when you pull the trigger. My advice would be to cut the gun into, throw it away and get a quality gun.
Yes, a Jennings J22 will fire without a magazine inserted.
Recommend you ask a gunsmith for help
what is the value of a Jennings model J-22 long rifle still in the box with paperwork and never been fired I just got a jennings j-22 stainless black combat grip still in the box with paperwork never fired for 90 us dollars. Hope that helps ************ Agree with above. These retail new for $80-90.
Best to ask a gunsmith for help if you don't have a manual
That's a task best left to a gunsmith.
They were about $60 new, and now about $100 in good condition at a gun show.
Try e-gunparts.com Better yet, search inner city alleyway dumpsters on Saturday nights or police evidence rooms in the 1970s unsolved homicide sections or perhaps you could ask local crack dealers and muggers where they get theirs
On mine which has a 314xxx serial (bryco arms Jennings J22). The serial number is located on the frames left hand side towards the rear. It is beneath the slide behind the safety and grip. PS: I have seen some J22's that do not have the s/n stamped in this location so yours may be different.
