not being a stick in the mud, but I'm certified mech{retired} this vehicle has a adjustment sequence that is broader than this forum is allowed space, having the bearings serviced on a 4x4 is tedious and very critical, especially if driven in the mountains or curvy roads---------get my meaning-----spend the money for expertise---save your life-do it every 85,000 miles with top of the liine grease

The front wheel bearings and hub come as one piece. The bearings alone are not serviceable.

You can change the front wheel bearings on your 2000 Buick Regal without replacing the entire hub assembly. You can change each individual wheel bearing, if you choose.

You replace the wheel bearing hub assembly - it has studs, bearings and wheel speed sensor around $100 part
They need to be checked, cleaned and repacked.
wheel bearings are not threaded, the beaing races are smooth as is the axle and hub where the bearings fit
Jack up the 2000 ranger. Remove the wheel and brake caliper. slide the rotor off. Take off the axle nut dust cover and remove the cotter pin. Remove the nut, and slide the assembly off. Change the bearings and races, then reassemble.
I'm not sure how to change them, but you nay want to call your local Ford dealership as the 2000 Focuses had recalls several years in a row for the wheel bearings. You may be able to get them replaced for free.
I need front wheel bearings on my s-10 pickup. The shop quoted me $612. When I look up the part online - the wheel bearings cost under $25. I can't imagine that they actually charge over $575 in labor! Not sure if that helps you. I kind of have the same question.
