Tie up the lobster's claws and then hold its body with two hands. After that, crack it in half. The most humane way is to put the live Lobster into the deep freeze for about an hour before you want to cook it, this shuts down the Lobsters systems, it goes into a deep sleep, then drop it into lots of boiling water to cook it.

Pull off the tail with a light twist, cut the underside on both sides and remove the underside shell. You may then run a knife under the meat to loosen it or leave it in the shell. Pull off the long skinny legs and serve as is to crack with the teeth and suck the meat out. Some people like to suck the head. I don't. That's it. Alisa

Caring for a lobster in captivity is very similar to caring for a Saltwater Fish. Set up a marine aquarium, construct a hiding area out of rocks, and put the lobster in. The temperature will depend on whether it is an Atlantic coldwater lobster (grocery store lobster) or an exotic tropical reef lobster. The coldwater species will need very chilled water of around 50F and the tropical lobster will require a temperature of around 75-70F.

Lobsters are scavengers, so they'll eat whatever's on the bottom of the tank. That includes algae, snails, and dead fish. You can feed a baby lobster fish flakes, and shrimp pellets to adults.
