The fuel filter on a 2000 S40 turbo is located under the driver side rear. It is close to the gas tank. The lines are held in place by squeze(sp) clamps. The filter is located behind the rear tire.
You can find a good tutorial at http://airsuspensionreviews.com
There is one down past the turbo unit on the exhaust pipe (front) then after the catalytic converter (under a plate that cover it and exhaust pipe you must remove 4 screws to get at the sensor) is the rear you will need the special socket as the rear is kinda hidden
The rear are shocks the front has struts. Rears shocks are a snap to change. Front struts should only be changed if you have the proper tools and knowledge as it can be dangerous.
I just don't. Take it to shop.
To change the rear shocks on a 1999 Toyota 4Runner the rear of the vehicle must be lifted with the wheels removed. Find the shock mounts and remove those nuts as well as the lower fork hardware. Each shock will slide out in whole assemblies.
Yes it should have front struts and rear shocks.
