Check the thermal relay for the cooling fans.
Check the temperature sensor
If the cooling fans do not activate in a 1997 XK8 Jaguar, first check the fuse associated with the cooling fan circuit to ensure it hasn't blown. Next, inspect the coolant temperature sensor and wiring, as a malfunctioning sensor may prevent the fans from turning on. Additionally, verify the operation of the fan relay by testing it or swapping it with a similar one. Lastly, check for any overheating issues or coolant levels, as the fans should engage when needed for engine cooling.
The cooling fans turn on utilizing a temperature sensor and a relay. When the engine gets to a certain temperature the temp sensor closes and the cooling fans come on. Check fuses first. If you have a 12 volt test light, hook up the test light to the connector that goes to the cooling fans once the engine is warmed up and see if the light comes on. If it doesn't, the problem is in the power to the fans, check fuse, sensor and relay. If the light comes on and the fans don't, check for a proper ground (usually a green or black wire attached to a lug and bolted to the car chassis.
have the cooling fans checked out.
Check the relay.
Drain antifreeze, remove upper and lower rad hoses remove both cooling fans, and both bolts that hold condesnor to rad and pull rad upward out
The cooling fans are the only cooling source for a air cooled engine.
Check to see if they are getting power Could be a bad temperature sensor Check to see if they come on with A/C or defroster
In all probability it is the cooling fan switch. Before you replace it you need to check the fuses. The cooling fan switch is on the intake manifold.
check the smog pump ,,,i had the same problem on my 95 z28
Depending on the year, make and model check the cooling fan/fans and on some models check the fan clutch...........
