What are the dangers of using the coarse-adjustment knob when focusing under high power?

It is possible to cause damage to the microscope or lenses when using the coarse focus- such as pushing the lens through the glass slide.

In bowling what is the objective?

The objective of Bowling is to knock down and many pins as possible.

When using the high power objective which focus knob do you use?

The fine adjustment knob is used with the power objective on the microscope. Since the objective is already at the highest objective possible for that microscope, using the coarse adjustment knob would focus to much on the object making the details harder to read. Using the fine adjustment knob, you are able to see the fine details within the object or organism you are studying. The higher the power, the finer the knob and the lower the objective, the coarser the knob and objective.

How do you work a microscope?

A confocal microscope works by a laser shining on two mirrors mounted on motors which allows it to scan the sample then the emitted light is focued through the pinhole to a detector which relays an image to the lens.

What will happen when high power objective is used with water instead of oil?

When a microscope is used with a very high magnification objective the image can be spoiled by the number of refractions as light goes from one medium to another (glass to air, for example). In order to help this a drop of special oil is placed on the slide cover slip and the bottom of the objective lens dips into the oil. The oil has the same refractive index as the glass used in cover slips and the bottom lens in the objective so there is no refraction as the light passes from glass to oil and back to glass. The objective is designed to give the best image with the oil. The refractive index of water is not the same as that of the oil, so the correction would not be right and the objective would not give the best possible image. I would also be a little wary of using water in case it damages the objective. It may be oil-proof, but that doesn't guarantee it is waterproof.this will lead to poor focusing.

What can be seen under a electron microscope and not a light microscope?

An electron microscope has a much higher magnifying power and resolution than a regular light microscope. One can visualize molecules and even atoms using an electron microscope. This is not possible with a light microscope
