Become involved in community service in areas where children can assist. Keep the sessions very short, or you'll put the kids off for life! If you have a local meals-on-wheels service the kids could help carry in the food and chat to the clients; everyone should be happy with that, provided you stick with a half-hour run before you take the kids home. You'll need to do that extra short run outside your own work, so regulars on the route can get on with the job. This kind of work is perfect for children because those requiring meals delivered so frequently have interesting homes that kids love to see. If you don't have something similar in your area, you'll easily find something equally valuable. The important thing is to keep sessions short.
An advantage of community service is that it can enhance your resume. A disadvantage of community service is that it can be a form of punishment. ^^ ;)
Yes. Tutoring is community service. It's helping children of all ages get ahead and keep up with school. Children are part of this community, are they not?
Do you think its a good learning experience when doing community service in order to graduate from college?
Your local community centers should have information on how children can work within the community. This will give children many advantages they can use later in life.
No.
The advantages are that you can get donations to fund your charity The disadvantages of a charity are that the details are exposed to the general public. The charity does not work to make a profit.
There are many different places that you can take your children for community services. If you check with the local court systems, you can find out the difference ways for community services.
If you are seriously asking this question, maybe you shouldn't be filling out anything that requires you to answer it. if you were actually DOING community service, you'd have enough heart (and experience) to answer this one on your own.

There is not one specific thing you can learn from community service. Depending on what you are doing community service on depends on what you will obtain from the experience. For example, if you volunteer at a nursing home you could learn that you like working with that population and want to pursue a degree in that! You can always say you learned how important volunteers are, or that your community thrives from the hard work that volunteers preform.
