Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine the problem
its hydraulic with abs
The wheel speed sensors are known to fail.
It could, it was an option.
With a scan tool, after repairing the cause of the code.
Either the abs computer is sensing a fault, or it is losing power(ie blown fuse)
The ABS computer has detected a malfunction and set a code. You need to have the system checked for codes.
There is one on the top of the rear axle, and one at each front wheel bearing.
There could be two separate problems. Check the blower motor resister, and the ABS sensors for problems that could cause this.
You probably have a bad speed sensor. I believe your 1997 Ram 3500, only has a rear ABS system. The speed sensor should be located in the rear end, located at the top of the pumpkin. Look for the wire harness coming from it. Hope this helps. Take it to a professional and have the ABS looked at. Not a repair for a novice. I have a 1996 Dodge ram 3500 and after I lost my right front caliper my abs light stays on and I don't have use of my abs. Sometimes my brake light comes on and stays on until I shut off the truck and restart it. any how you should have all wheel abs! there is a wire the follows your front brake line into the hub area and that is your front speed sensor. I tried plugging in a tester for the abs and it read no trouble codes, my only option is to replace the speed sensor on my right front or tear into the harness in the dash where I was told that dodge's are notorious for having a loose connection.
If you know it is bad, just unbolt the hold down and pull it out.
ABS stands for antilock brake system. The light is telling you that something in your ABS braking system is about to fail or has failed. You need to get it checked out before you have a brake failure and injure or kill someone else.
