Yes, God pftem sends angels and signs to us in all forms in our time of need, whether it's grief over the loss of a family member, a dear friend, a beloved pet, a divorce, a serious illness, financial ruin, etc. Usually, when He does, He sends the sign in a form that will mean something to us, otherwise, we may not 'get it'. So, yes, it is possible this was a sign to help you in your grief. But I believe it's God who sends the signs, although He does use angels to deliver the signs, and even messages. I have had signs from God on a few occasions, and each time I knew what it was telling me, and each time I was greatly comforted by it. And every single time, the sign or message proved to be something real, and once it even saved my life. God sends all of us signs and messages, but sadly, so many people don't listen, or don't realize it for what it is. So as for the blood, only you can really know if that was a sign from God (or an angel sent by God), since only you would know the significance of the blood. But yes, it is entirely possible.
