They do not kill trees, they only eat insects that do!
If a woodpecker is working on a tree it means that it is infested with wood boring insects and is sick, the woodpecker is actually helping it.
Barrier wraps (1/4-inch [0.6-centimeter] burlap, hardware cloth, plastic mesh), insect control (of carpenter bees, leaf-cutter bees, termites), nesting boxes, sanitation schedules (carcass, droppings, litter removal), suet stations, and visual scare deterrents are ways to keep woodpeckers out of trees. Nesting boxes and suet feeders (which should not be used during the summer when the suet can stick to bird plumage) function as baits to draw woodpeckers away from arboreal forages. Visual deterrents such as aluminum foil or reflective Irri-Tape or windsocks blowing in the breeze or Terror Eyes bouncing from a spring may be effective supplements to the above-mentioned strategies.
I do not know why you'd want to, they are very beneficial.
They only want insects in rotted or dying wood, they don't really mess with buildings, and nothing they do is bad for a living tree.
I feed them suet and they love it, they help keep the trees around my house free from insects, and are very friendly.
Wood pecker Peck for 3 reasons first they want food if that is get rid have any termites or other bugs. second and third they are trying to get a mate or making a nest you could move the nest but that could be highly dangerous or block the hole or even scare it off
Generally speaking, they will only peck on surfaces that contain insects, these areas would be dead wood, but they do communicate during the mating season through drumming, they will do this on a surface that will resonate the sound well like a hollow log or perhaps siding on a house, but they will quit after a while. A fake owl may keep them away from your home.
bang on your wall from the inside (it will scare them away) or throw rocks at it
they are just calling for a mate or announcing their territory, they wont stay there long
you shoot the bird or you just simply get a bird or animal repellent to get rid of your situation
You don't, they are eating insects that kill trees, they don't eat wood.
Trees provide food, shelter and a nest site for Woodpeckers.
woodpeckers do live in forest trees. they actually live in many places. not deserts. published by Dr. Hillian
hahahahahahaha
Woodpeckers attack trees that are infested by insects...that is what they are after. So trees that are less likely to suffer insect infestation are MORE likely to be left undamaged by woodpeckers. I don't know of any tree totally impervious to insects.
Woodpeckers are looking for food. They are looking for insects in the bark/tree.
Probably birds like woodpeckers etc. If you want to learn more about them just go to google.com
stop global worming stop to cut trees stop killing animals
the woods...or wherever trees are. OR WOOD.
It's where they make their homes.
high up in the trees
There are many different species of woodpeckers found in different areas. All woodpeckers make their nests and take shelter in holes that they make in trees.
They are the only trees with wood soft enough for them to peck it out
