If the ignition chime will not turn off on a 1994 Ford tempo the switch for the sound is jammed. The steering column with have to be removed to access the switch for the ignition chime.
there is a pin on the switch which must be depressed to remove the unit from the dash.
Sounds like the ignition switch is bad

I have heard this problem related to my sons 2000 Monte Carlo. I'm about to change his ignition switch. I tried the resistor, tested the fan, even changed out the whole climate control unit!
you have to take off the cover around the neck of the wheel the you will see a white plug that has a grey housing that would be your ignition switch. just unplug that and put a new one in they are like 10 bucks if i didnt explain that good then just im me on aim at XFallenLambX

their is a button on the switch, u press it to reset the switch
Faulty Ignition System. Dead battery. Dead Coil. Worn out Ignition "Wires" to Plugs. Corroded Battery Cable to Starter. Corrosion at Battery Terminals. Engine Ground Problem thereof eliminating complete Electrical Circuit. Blown Fuses or Relays. Faulty Ignition Switch. Hope one of these is it!! CHEERS!!
