The easiest option for you would be to by a bark collar. They are offered for a range of prices. They emit a smell, noise, or slight electric shock as soon as a dog barks to discourage a dog form barking. All three are annoying to the dogs, but none of them hurt the dog.

How do you stop my puppy from barking?

If your puppy, or adult dog for that matter, is barking constantly, it is usually an indication that the dog is bored and is not getting enough exercise or mental challenges, so try taking the dog for regular walks and maybe training.

How To Teach Your Puppy Bark Control?

Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting time in many people’s lives. However, once the novelty of the moment has begun to wear off, dog owners are then left with a confusing reality. A puppy must be trained. One of the most frustrating and difficult aspects of a puppy’s training, is teaching a puppy the appropriate times to bark. A puppy that is allowed to bark incessantly will continue this behavior throughout its adult life, and can become a nuisance to its family, guests, and neighbors. Bark Control In Three Easy Steps: 1. Use a firm and consistent command to cease barking. It is best to choose a separate command that is not used for anything other unwanted behaviors. For this reason, commands like No or Stop are too general. Your puppy will better associate a specific command like No Barking or Quiet with the need to stop barking. This command must be stated firmly, in a voice that is a louder than what is usually used to speak to the puppy. This will help to show the puppy who is in charge of the situation and reiterate that it is necessary to obey this command. In addition, the same command must be used consistently every time an unwanted barking session begins. Without consistency a puppy will never fully learn to obey this command, which is the fault of the master. 2. Incorporate treats into training. When a puppy listens to the ’no barking’ command for a few seconds, promptly give the puppy a treat. This will help the puppy associate the command with a pleasant outcome. Puppies learn at a much increased rate when pleasantly rewarded for their obedient behavior. Once a puppy fully listens to its masters command to cease barking, a decreased number of treats will be needed to reinforce the behavior. However, at the beginning of training, the use of treats will be a powerful persuasion towards obedience. 3. Understand that some puppies truly have a mind of their own. While some puppies may be more difficult to train than others, all dogs can be made to be obedient . In the case that a puppy will not listen to its masters chosen command to stop barking, negative reinforcement may need to be used. In the case that a puppy will not obey commands, fill a water bottle with rocks and shake the water bottle every time the puppy barks. This sound is unpleasant to dogs and will help a puppy associate barking with an unpleasant noise, as a means to discontinue the behavior.

Can you train a dog not to bark?

Dogs bark. It is not a bad thing. They bark for different reasons and it is never ok to forbid them to bark. That is how they express themselves. The same way human being talk, dogs bark. Its a problem when the dog barks excessively. That's when you have to make him stop and teach him not to do it. I don't have the magic formula, but I control my dog excessive barking by telling her "ENOUGH!". Make sure than when you ask your dog to stop barking, you ask him AFTER he is done barking. When he gets quiet, pet him and give him a treat so he could understand that you like it when he does NOT bark and tht he will get nice reward if he does shut up. Do not EVER scream STOP while she is barking because she will think you are barking with her and will not understand that she has to stop..

How to Handle Difficult Bark Control Situations?

Dogs that bark incessantly can be a nuisance to their owners and their neighbors. Many cities have regulations against dogs barking outside during certain hours of the night. It can be difficult to train a dog to stop barking because it is such a natural response to the dog’s environment. If you have a dog that won’t stop barking, here are a few things you can try. Puppies That Bark Younger dogs have more energy and become excited more easily. This can cause them to bark more frequently than older dogs. Some puppies have a hard time calming down once they’ve begun barking, which leads them to bark for hours and hours. The best way to deal with a barking puppy is to find a calm place for the puppy to stay when they become overly excited. When the puppy begins to bark, put him in his calm place until he settles down. Eventually the barking will happen less and less as the puppy associates it with being put away. Distraction Methods Barking is meant to be used as an alert or a warning. If your dog has developed a barking pattern that is more habit than anything else, sometimes a distraction can help break them of the habit. When the dog begins to bark, make a loud noise that draws their attention. Usually they will stop barking when they look to see what the noise was. Repeated use of this method will eventually break the dog’s barking habit. The Effectiveness of Shock Methods Shock methods like electronic collars or noisemakers are very effective at first, but their effectiveness only lasts for a few weeks at the most. The dog will eventually become used to the noisemaker and bark anyway in most cases. If a shock collar is used, the dog will understand that barking is uncomfortable while the collar is on. As soon as the collar is removed, however, the dog will discover that barking isn’t uncomfortable anymore. It is unsafe to leave a shock collar on a dog 24 hours a day, and shock collars are only effective while the dog is wearing one. Time spent training a dog is far more effective than any shock method.
