Depends what you mean by "train"

Some say tortoises do come to know their owners, but it takes time.

One of mine comes towards me (or anyone else for that matter) if it's hungry.

I guess the most you can expect of a star torotise is that it will come towards you when you feed it - it might even feed from your fingers.

But don't expect them to do tricks...for that you need a different kind of pet - maybe a dog.
