The terrorists who caused 9/11 had nothing at all to do with the Iraqi Regime and the basis for entering the Iraq War was to find weapons of mass destruction. However, Bush's administration tried to tie Saddam Hussein to the 9/11 attacks even though there was no link.

Some people believe that the invasion of Iraq was undertaken to create a 'model' state that would in some way make support for Al-Qaeda less prevalent in the Arab world.
