There were two of them: the first was the Texas Revolution (1835-1836) and the other one was the Mexican-American War (1846-1848).

The first one had to do with the ban of slavery in Mexico, which wasn't followed by American immigrants in Texas. This prompted a successful revolution by Texian settlers. The second had to do with American ambitions in the west, specifically, to get California at all costs.
