Back in the olden days horse racing was actually very different, and only took place under special circumstances. Horse racing only ever took place when the sun was exactly 43 degrees from the ground, and when the moon wasn't full. This is because when the moon was full Micheal Jackson and his creepy mates turned into Zombies and everybody knows that a zombie's favoruite food is in fact horses and little people (aka Jockies).

Now days horses are bigger, and stronger and the jockies are extremely light. Research has shown that the jockies are actually part robot, and are built and designed with light steel and materials, making them light and durable.

Hope this helped.

What is 6to1 odds in horse racing?

Simply, in this case, if you bet $1 on a horse to win, and the horse does win, then you will get $6 back. Further, if you bet $2, you will get $12 back. $5 will get you $30, etc... You will also get back the money you wagered. SO, if you bet $2 and win at 6 to 1 you will receive $14 (your $2 plus your winnings of $12),

History of horse riding?

Horse racing is one of the oldest sports on record and has been around for thousands of years. Not only has it survived the test of time but it has also been an organized sport throughout the world even dating back to the original Greek Olympics. By the 1700's horse racing had really blossomed into an extremely popular sport. The quick and lithe Arab horses were bred with their sturdier European counterparts which resulted in fantastic race horses. As the sport became more organised racecourses opened all over the country and standardized rules and regulations were introduced. When Charles II was King from 1660-1685 he held two horse races on private courses with the winner being awarded a prize. Newmarket in Britain was the very first venue for horse racing. Between 1702-1714, when Queen Anne was on the throne, horse racing developed from two horses to several and spectators would place bets on the horse they thought would win. The Jockey club was formed in 1750 at Newmarket where the elite of horse racing met. The club was formed to control English racing and a set of rules were made that are still in force today. There were concerns regarding the breeding and registration of race horses and a gentleman called James Weatherby was given the job of tracing the history of all race horses. Steps were then taken to control and regulate the breeding. All foals born to a race horse now had to be recorded in the General Stud Book. This book was first published in 1793. It was in the year 1866 that the National Hunt Committee was formed. In 1993 the British Horseracing Board became the governing authority for horse racing.
