Ivan Graeme Ferguson, CM (born 7 October 1929 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian filmmaker and inventor who co-invented IMAX. Ferguson was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 1993. He Graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

There were many efforts made to improve the impact of movies. The very first one was in 1929, when Fox developed the 70mm format called Fox Grandeur. After that, many efforts soon followed including the VistaVision in 1954 and the CinemaScope in 1953. The very first IMAX film was entitled "Tiger Child," which became part of Expo 70 that was held in Osaka, Japan.
