The conflict between the Tutsi and the Hutus was conducted mainly with machetes.
The Hutus
Between April and June 1994 for only 100 days appx. 800,000 Rwandans were killed. The two ethnic groups, the Hutus and the Tutsis were involved in the mass genocide. The Hutu extremists attempted to carry out their plan to wipe out the entire Tutsi population.Basically among the killed were : Any Hutu moderate, suspected Tutsi, and Tutsi was systematically murdered. These killings took place in homes and even while Tutsis tried to flee.
Juvénal Habyarimana's plane was shot down by the Tutsi's and he was killed in the crash. The Hutu's were insensed by this, the assasination of their president and thus began the genocide of the rival enthic Tutsi's.
Do you mean Tutsi? If so their main motive was simply because of fear. The Hutu's were afraid that if they din't kill them first they would be killed.

rwanda
The Tutsi Tribe Is an East-Central Africa Tribe Located In Rwanda and Burundi. The Hutu's are basically Tutsi slaves and do all of there work while the Tutsi get paid for it. 690,000 people in the tribe.
The Tutsi had some power in Rwanda when in 1963, a Tutsi prime minister was chosen by the monarch. However, in later years, there was a Rwandan civil war which resulted in the death of many of the Tutsi people.
The genocide took place in the context of the Rwandan Civil War, an ongoing conflict beginning in 1990 between the Hutu-led government and the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), which was largely composed of Tutsi refugees whose families had fled to Uganda following earlier waves of Hutu violence against the Tutsi. Most of the dead were Tutsis and most of those who perpetrated the violence were Hutus. The genocide was sparked by the death of the Rwandan President Juvenal Habyarimana, a Hutu, when his plane was shot down above Kigali airport on 6 April 1994.
the war was started when a plane was shot down.the president of rwanda and the president of burundi were in that plane.....the president of rwanda was the guy who kept order there.rwanda is the state the hutus and tutsis occupy. so when there was no one in control the tutsis took over and ran the state for awhile.and the hutus didnt like it.so it is basically a war for control over the state.
The Tutsi people have traditionally practiced a mix of Christianity, Islam, and indigenous beliefs. Many Tutsi converted to Christianity during colonization, while some retain elements of their indigenous beliefs. There is no single, uniform religion followed by all Tutsi individuals.
