Men got used to guerrilla warfare after experiencing it. SF (Green Beret) and SEAL units, as well as LRRPs (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrols), ARPs (Aerial Rifle Platoons), and Rangers dealt with that type of warfare very well.
The effects of Agent Orange didn't become a real issue until after the war.
