see now me and my friends are in a debate about this about this because i have a dark angels army and he thinks i cant use the cannon and new assault squad and such but the way i see it is that the latest space marine codex refering to ALL space marines should be the one consider unless your own men have individual abilities
(input from its the fuzz below)
Frankly i have the new codex, the BA codex, BT codex and access to the SW and DA codexs. They say the blood angles codex is 5th edition and up to date. Some things need to be sorted but heres a few points, Scouts cost more can only come in 5 or 10 man squads have to pay for sniper rifles but have a higher BS, Assualt marines have options to better weapons ie combat shields and storm bolters and such, and you get death company guys for free depending on the units in your army. At the end of the day BA,BT,SW,DA are NOT standard codex armies so you cant use ANYTHING in the new codex it would be illegal. I know its a bit of a nightmare but that's the way it is. I feel sorry for crimson fists armies iam sure they had preferred enemy orks.
The next 40k codex in line is the Blood Angels codex.
Probably not, Codex Space Marines are probably a better choice. I would try to find a copy of each codex and read it before making a choice. You can definitely get some Space Wolves or even Blood Angels at a later date, but start with regular Marines.
Get a Codex and read it. If you don't have 2 troops and an HQ you can't play anyways.
There is a new codex and new models. Check Gamesworkshop.com for more information.
You can get a Dreadnought at most model retailers and Games Workshop Hobby Stores. There isn't a seperate model that is known as a Blood Angels Dreadnought, but a regular Dreadnought painted to the Blood Angels Colour Scheme will qualify to the Blood Angels Codex.
The best thing to do is buy the codex
look In the codex's
Answer No, before a battle brother is given his suit of power armor, he must first prove himself as a scout. With the exception of maybe the Space Wolves, I think in the fluff part of the Codex it talks about the more venerable marines being scouts. Their stats are lower as well unless you get an older codex like Dark Angels where the stats are almost identical to the marines
All armies have a good amount of fluff, the newer codexes will probably have some of the best, something that covers a broad army, such as Space Marines, will have a more generalized fluff than a specific Marines codex such as Dark Angels or Black Templar.
In codex space marines under heavy support
