How would teenagers of today deal with the conflicts of war and friendship?

Whenever you ask such a question, please do not forget that the teenagers during WWII were kids growing up during the depression. They were used to not having anything and life was considered a tough and difficult thing. The youth of today have not had the same set of experiences to test their mettle. They are used (for the most part) to getting what they want. Life nowadays is an on demand type of life style. I do believe that many of the teenagers would learn to adapt, but that there would be major problems. The WWII era kids were used to doing without, whereas todays kids are used to a life of plenty. If the US was involved in a large scale conflict (without nukes) that forced out nation to switch over to a full war time economy, there are many "creature comforts" that the youth of today would have to do without. This would cause additional problems/stress for those familiy members staying at home. This would lead to a reduction in morale at the homefront, which would inevitably affect the front line troops. So I believe that the first part of any large scale conflict would cause severe ramifications on the homefront as our youth tried to deal with the problems that this would cause.
