It depends where on Broadway you're coming from. Broadway is the longest street in the world, and it runs in a diagonal line up and down almost all of Manhattan. It cuts straight across Manhattan: uptown, Broadway is on the West Side, and downtown, Broadway is on the East Side. This is because, while New York City is built on an eastward slant, Broadway runs in a straight north/south line up and down New York City and State.

If you're coming from Broadway on the Upper West Side (above 59th Street) then you'd take the Downtown 1-2-3 (the red line) to 34th Street-Penn Station. The 1-2-3 runs up and down Broadway on the Upper West Side.

You could also take the Downtown A-C-E from Upper Manhattan to Penn Station.

In the upper part of Midtown, Broadway winds itself around 7th Avenue like a snake. At one point it's ever-so-slightly west of 7th, and then it continues moving east and ends up ever-so-slightly east of 7th. So, from upper Midtown, you would walk the very short distance from Broadway to 7th Avenue, and again, you'd take the Downtown 1-2-3 (once Broadway veers off its course, the 1-2-3 line runs up and down 7th Avenue).

As you move further downtown in Midtown, Broadway veers increasingly east of 7th Avenue. But if you're starting out, from, say, 34th Street and Broadway, or 27th Street and Broadway, then you are so close to Penn Station (34th between 7th and 8th) that you might as well just walk. Or, if you have lots of luggage to carry, such a short distance in a taxi would not be very expensive.

From Lower Manhattan, the simplest way would be to walk west until you get to the A-C-E line (the blue line) or the 1-2-3, and take them straight to 34th Street-Penn Station.

You could also take the Uptown N or R trains (of the N-R-Q-W, the yellow line) from Canal Street (at Broadway) or Prince Street (also at Broadway), or the City Hall Station (on Broadway between Murray and Warren Streets...Warren Street is one block south of Chambers Street) to 42nd Street-Times Square. Then transfer at Times Square to the Downtown 1-2-3, one stop to 34th Street-Penn Station.

Or, you can get the Uptown F train from East Broadway to West 4th Street, then transfer at West 4th to the Uptown A-C-E to 34th Street-Penn Station.

Note that the East Broadway Station is actually located on Rutgers Street (which becomes Essex Street at Canal Street, one block north of East Broadway) between Henry Street and East Broadway.

The PC Richard Theater is at 32 Avenue of the Americas (aka 6th Avenue).

Take the Downtown A-C-E (the blue line) from 34th Street-Penn Station to Canal Street (at 6th Avenue). Then walk 1.5 to 2.5 blocks down 6th Avenue (depending on which subway exit you use) to 32 6th Avenue, between Lispenard and Walker Streets.

Take the Uptown 1-2-3 (the red line), 1 stop, from 34th Street-Penn Station to 42nd Street-Times Square.

Transfer at 42nd Street-Times Square to the Downtown N or R trains (of the N-R-Q, the yellow line), and take the Downtown N or R to Prince Street (at Broadway).

Then walk 1/2 a block down Broadway (in the same direction as traffic) to 546 Broadway, between Prince and Spring Streets.

Penn Station is at 33rd to 34th Street, between 8th and 7th Avenues.

Depending on where the show is, you can walk up 7th Avenue to 42nd Street (Times Square), walk 1 very, very short avenue block east to Broadway, and then walk up Broadway.

Or, you can take the Uptown 1-2-3 (the red line), 1 stop, from 34th Street-Penn Station to 42nd Street-Times Square.

Or, you can take the Uptown 1 local train, 2 stops, from 34th Street-Penn Station to 50th Street (at Broadway).

Was there a PC game called the theater?

Apparently there was a game called "The Theater" for the PC. Although it is said that all original copies for the game were either lost or destroyed, and the only evidence of it's existence (from my research) is the CreepyPasta story, that is literally all that appears on Internet searches.
