The sixth amendment provides most of the rights of the accused in criminal prosecutions. The one with which most are familiar concerns a part of the so-called Miranda rights, in which the accused has the right to seek the advise of an attorney.

Sixth Amendment~

U.S. Const., Amend. VI:

"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence."

The most prominent (but certainly not the only) clause in Amendment VI is the Confrontation Clause, which means that an accused must be made aware at trial of the witnesses and their testimony against the accused, and the accused also has the right to cross-examine that testimony.
