You would evaluate all areas of your well being. This is known as the holistic approach to health which incorporates all aspects that can affect ones health. The incorporated aspects are, spiritual, mental, social, environmental and physical. So to take care of your health you would work at improving each of those areas. But it would be difficult for an unhealthy individual to attempt to improve all of these areas at once. So break it down and work on one thing at a time. For example, Physical - You would self motivate to aim to exercise for 30mins a day. When this has been achieved you would then educate yourself about the importance of a well balanced diet. You could even start with just consuming a nutritional breakfast and when you are used to that you can move on to incorporate a balanced lunch and so on and so forth. Mental - If you suffer any mental illness, such as depression etc, a good idea would be to start the right medication or to see a counsellor. The aim is to allow yourself to be as mentally content and stable as possible. Feeling good emotionally encourages endorphin activity which increases your life expectancy. ----------- The holistic health components all fall back on to each other, for eg, if you eat well and exercise you will begin to feel good about yourself... which therefore leads to an improved state of mental health. If you feel good about yourself you are then more likely to make friends and interact with others and therefore leads to an improvement in social health, etc etc. ----------- I hope this was helpful.
