The Civil war started because Lincoln had been voted in on a ticket of no new slave-states. This meant that the South would always be outvoted in Congress, which would pass laws that favoured the North at the expense of the South. So the South broke away, to form a separate nation.
That there would always be hatred between the North and the South.
U.S. politics would have been more corrupt and U.S. service commision woulve been in the spoils systems
We can say that, politics then is different from the politics now, because, politics then was less democratic than politics now.
Politics then is different from politics now, as politics back then had less or no democracy, but politics now is way much democratic.
It would be as it is today, because African Americans would have fought for there freedom a lot earlier in the 60's
The north and the south would still be mad at each other and we might have split into two different countries by now.

If Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri had seceded from the Union, the American Civil War would have probably been won by the South. With the addition of these three states, the South may have had the man power to win the war.
