I just did this last week, and my hands are still recovering. You're gonna need to download the service repair manual, which is worth it. The short version: you'll remove pulleys and disconnect fuel rail, remove oil tube and alternator brackets, and pick the whole engine up about 4 inches to get the alternator up through the top. You remove no pulleys. Just loosen the belt and then remove the alternator.

Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse alternator. Loosen the alternator tensioner bolt. Remove the alternator belt. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.
Wilson the alternator belt. With the tensioner pulley. Remove the wiring harness from the alternator. Remove the four alternator retaining bolts.
